Après ski in the village

Elsie’s bar

The more grown up way to do après ski, This typical ‘Valais’ style bar opposite the St. Mauritius church in the main town square provides an enchanting backdrop for those special evenings in Zermatt.  Built in 1879 today it continues to offer one of the best whisky and wine collections in town, alongside a long cocktail list, Champagnes, oysters, caviar, snails and homemade foie gras.  A cute little restaurant upstairs is one of Zermatt’s best kept secrets.

Papperla Pub

Located centrally near the river this venue fills up quickly during après ski, with live music at around 18:00 most days. Dave (owner of Alphitta on the mountain) plays here with his band on a Tuesday night.

Harry’s Ski Bar

A lively fun après ski bar situated along the river on the edge of the old town and at the ‘Sunnega’ end of town.
