Zermatt is easily accessible from Geneva, Zurich, and Milan airports – there is an approximately 4 hour transfer time from each of the above airports.
Train
By far the easiest way to transfer from the airport to Zermatt.
Swiss rail timetables are available on line in order to plan your journey and the stations at both Geneva and Zurich airports are directly attached to the terminal buildings.
The journey will usually comprise a fast train to Visp followed by a change onto the glacier express train that will take you up the mountain to Zermatt.
The most economical ticket for a short holiday to Zermatt is the Swiss Saver Day Pass – booking from 60 days before travel. The earlier you book the cheaper the ticket.
On arrival in Zermatt an electric taxi will take you the short journey up to the apartment. If you are really organised give Taxi Schaller a call once you’ve left Tasch station so they are waiting for you on your arrival in Zermatt!

Hire car
Part of the charm of Zermatt is that it is a car free village. This means that if you hire a car from the airport it must be parked in Tasch – the town just below Zermatt.
Access from Tasch is then either:
- via train – one stop on the glacier express railway
- Taxi Fredy – park your car with them (from 6 CHF per day) and they will take you to the entrance of Zermatt

On arrival in Zermatt (via either route) you will need to transfer to an electric taxi for your journey to the apartment.
It sounds more complicated than it is! The entire journey from Tasch to the apartment will take approximately 20mins.
Airport Taxi transfer
Taxi Fredy are also able to provide airport transfers from all three airports to Zermatt. As above, on arrival in Zermatt you will need to transfer to an electric taxi for the final journey up to the apartment.

Electric taxis in Zermatt
We have negotiated a flat fee of 20 CHF with Taxi Schaller for a journey to/from anywhere in Zermatt from/back to the apartment.
Prices can vary hugely between companies so we would recommend you use Taxi Schaller whether it’s just on arrival and departure or, if on occasion, you need a little help back up to the apartment after a day on skis!
The taxi rank is based at the train station, or give them a call and they will send a taxi within a few minutes. It is not possible to ‘hail’ a taxi in Zermatt.
